Paper Bike: Privacy Policy
1. Summary
Paper Bike has no accounts, no sign-in and no in-app purchases, and the developer does not collect any personal data. Your game progress stays on your device. The game shows a small number of ads through Google AdMob: one banner on the level-select menu, and optional rewarded videos you can choose to watch for extra coins. Google, not the developer, collects some information to show and measure those ads (see section 6). The game is fully playable offline, in which case no ads are requested.
2. Information stored on your device
To remember your progress, the game saves a small amount of game data locally on your device:
- which levels you have finished (so the next level is unlocked), and
- your coin balance.
This data never leaves your device. If your device is backed up to iCloud or a computer, Apple's backup may include this game data under Apple's own privacy policy. Deleting the app deletes this data.
3. Information the developer does not collect
The developer does not run servers for Paper Bike and does not collect, store remotely, sell or share:
- names, email addresses, phone numbers or other contact details
- precise location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone data
- analytics about how you play
4. Apple services
The game may show Apple's standard "Rate this app" prompt. Any rating or review you submit goes to Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. Apple may also give developers anonymous, aggregated statistics (such as crash counts or download numbers) if you chose to share them with app developers in your device's settings.
5. In-game coins
Coins are collected by playing, or optionally by watching a rewarded ad (+5 coins). They have no real-money value and cannot be bought or sold.
6. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Paper Bike uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to show:
- one banner ad at the bottom of the level-select menu (never during a ride), and
- optional rewarded video ads, only when you tap "Watch ad" to earn 5 coins.
There are no full-screen ads that interrupt play. When ads are requested, Google may collect and process:
- device identifiers: Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking, and an app-scoped identifier (IDFV);
- your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general (coarse) location;
- ad interaction data (for example, ads shown, taps, and whether a rewarded video was completed);
- diagnostic and performance information about the ads SDK.
Google uses this information to deliver, measure and improve ads, to prevent fraud and, where you have agreed, to personalize ads. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.
Your ad choices
- Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland): on first launch, Google's consent message asks for your choices before any ads are requested.
- App Tracking Transparency: iOS asks whether Paper Bike may track you. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the IDFA is not shared and you may still see non-personalized ads. You can change this anytime in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Rewarded ads are opt-in: they only play when you tap "Watch ad".
7. Children
Paper Bike is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Ad requests are limited to ad content suitable for a teen (12+/13+) audience.
8. Your choices and rights
The developer does not hold personal data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. You can remove all game data by deleting the app. For data Google processes for ads, use the ad choices in section 6 or the tools described in Google’s privacy policy.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Significant changes will be posted before the app version that needs them is released.
